New Plans to Improve Treatment of Hepatitis Patients

President elect of the World Hepatitis Alliance Mr. Danjuma Adda is ready with new plans for the treatment of Hepatitis patients in the African countries.

In Africa, people suffering from hepatitis face many issues in proper treatment and management of the condition. Several governments in the continent of Africa have not prioritized elimination of viral hepatitis and thus very little investment by those governments goes towards attaining the elimination goals. The lack of commitment from governments also affects private sector investment.

To this, Mr. Adda, The President Elect of World Hepatitis Alliance, highlighted some very important factors, which will help the African countries to battle and fight against Hepatitis. The first thing is to raise awareness as to what is Hepatitis, how does it affect the person and his body and what is the solution to this disease. Raising awareness in this case is of the most vital thing to be done. Second step is prioritizing the investment case for elimination that helps in achieving the targets set and optimize research allocation and embezzle those which are within the universal health coverage activities.

The South African government will start giving insurances at a very low cost EMI to the people which will be affordable for their treatment for this disease. The government also announced to enhance the health system, which includes improving workforce skills and investment in technology and surveillance systems, integrating activities into existing health programs to strengthen infrastructure, and improving co-ordination and optimize resource allocation.
