SpaceX-owned Starlink satellite plans to develop high-speed satellite internet services in India to expand its footprint in the Asian region.
The internet has grown into an integral element of people's daily lives. Consumers are regularly on the hunt for a more reliable network with more powerful speeds and lower prices. Keeping this thought in mind, Starlink satellite is going to provide high-speed internet to the Indian population.
The satellite internet division of SpaceX, Starlink, is going to provide satellite internet connection to the rural regions of India at affordable prices. Starlink satellite registered their interest in India on November 1st, company records deposited among the government presented, while it prepares to begin Internet services in the country.
SpaceX created a local unit for Starlink Satellite, which will provide the organization to apply for required permits from the government. So later, it could implement broadband and some additional satellite-based services.
Starlink remains one of the few growing corporations, which are launching small satellites into space as a section of low Earth-orbiting systems to accommodate low-latency internet services throughout the globe. More specifically, these satellites especially focus on isolated regions that are hard to reach to a physical internet, which includes mostly rural regions of India.
Starlink is not only one participant in this race; the OneWeb satellite and Kuiper satellite are also competing for this position in India. OneWeb is co-owned by Bharti Enterprises and the British government, while Kuiper is privately owned by Amazon. Here, Starlink is focusing on the user-to-business segment; however, OneWeb seems like an organization that will choose to operate within the Business-to-Business (B2B) segment.
However, despite the competition, Starlink has already received over 5,000 pre-orders for its products. The organization intends to own 200,000 Starlink products and services by December 2022, which includes 80 percent of rural regions. Starlink will propose a latency of 20-40 milliseconds and a speed range of 100 Mbps to 150 Mbps.
Indian rural and urban audiences would gain a very successful deal on the internet out of this proposition, which will cover up the huge rift in the digital revolution of India.
