Sunlight and Hivecell collaborates for Edge computing solution for every application

The two firms will offer traditional as well as cloud-native applications to the Edge through as-a-service architecture.

On 31 August 2020, Sunlight, the Edge infrastructure firm, and Hivecells, an Edge-as-a-Service company, announced its partnership that enables companies to provide Edge-as-service solutions to all cloud-oriented and traditional applications. Hivecell provides the proper hardware, deploys it, provides business apps with push-button availability, and provides integrated monitoring and management at all facilities. The application can now be on the edge with a minimum total cost of ownership by both Sunlight's and Hyperconverged Infrastructure Stacks and the Hivecell platform. This is accomplished through the integration of purpose-built hardware, resource-efficient software, and centralized edge management tools, which saves space, power, cooling, and astronomical control.

With a simple subscription model, enterprises will be able to roll out apps at the edge. Hivecell and Sunlight will work together to provide a complete end-to-end solution by selecting the appropriate Hivecell hardware pre-configured with Sunlight software, sourcing the systems to all customer premises, connecting them with the company infrastructure, and allowing customers to provision the application requirements with a single click. It can be operated remotely from anywhere, eliminating the requirement for on-site technical expertise.
